You will be responsible for ensuring that global and European PR programs and strategies are executed at country level, adapted to local needs, and taken further. You will look after Benelux, Israel, Nordics and Baltics. You will be responsible for managing PR agencies, as well as for the strategic planning and proper utilisation of budgets. It is your responsibility to ensure that communication agency/agencies adhere to unified goals and targets and may also be part of the company’s pan-European or global task forces; as a result help the European/global organisation to reach their objectives.

 

Reporting to Head of Corporate Communications (EU), and you will have no direct reports. 

 

What will you be doing: 

  • Development, adaption and realisation of local PR programs in conjunction with European Corporate Communications
  • Management of external PR agencies (The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Latvia, Israel)
  • The point of contact for the PR agencies and press in the countries/regions
  • Development of press releases and articles
  • Development and execution of local press events
  • Support for editorial visits/ press tours to the countries/regions, as well as in other countries where international company events may take place
  • Internal communications: informing local staff of other departments’ achievements and projects via internal newsletter (frequency depending on size of local offices)
  • The local point of contact for CSR campaigns in countries/regions
  • Development of an annual/quarterly PR plan and event calendar.

 

What are looking for: 

  • A degree qualification (BA, MSc, MA, PhD) in any field, preferably Communications/ PR/ Journalism
  • Experience in PR/ journalistic area / company / industry / PR agency covering both B2B and B2C audiences, preferably in technology industry
  • In-depth understanding of theories and practices in PR/ Communications
  • In-depth understanding of local PR business, preferably in the technical, business, lifestyle and general interest environment
  • In-depth understanding of the development of communication strategies
  • Experience with corporate communications particularly crisis management
  • Experience managing PR budgets
  • Strategic way of thinking, able to “look beyond the backyard”
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent English and Dutch written and verbal skills
  • A self-motivated individual, with an ability to work in teams and independently
  • Flexible/willing to be contactable out of hours to attend to media enquiries
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to travel (estimated 20 %)
